A few things for families to consider as they look at year-round swimming:
| Remember when trying out that your family is also assessing whether the team is a good fit for YOU! Considerations may include: - Drive time & traffic patterns during projected practice times - Assessment of program commitment requirements like # of mandatory attendance/meet participation and volunteer requirements- Cost. Annual enrollment considerations, gear expectations, travel meet frequency and its associated time/financial investment - Facility. Cleanliness and accessibility - Team Culture & Coaching: If possible, good to shadow visit a practice and see the program in action. Are kids enjoying themselves and improving skills in an actively coached environment |
Tri Game Sports: Do you have a teen interested in trying out triathlons? There's a very cool, inclusive and fun event series coming up. First race is this weekend! (you don't even need your own bike - just come for fun! The kids only need a swimsuit, goggles, bike shorts and sneakers. The bikes are provided and on computerized trainers so no one needs to bike on roads. Future races will be in Anne Arundel County and College Park.
