This Week at ILBC Swimming
All-
What a fun (wet!) weekend. We learned a lot this weekend about meets and there are a few housekeeping updates below. Thanks for taking time to read so we are all on the same page!
Schedule for the week:
M-Th: Evening Practices
Wednesday: Meet Sign In closes at 12:00pm for our Saturday meet at Severn River S
Saturday: Meet at Severn River, details to come. Don't forget to sign-up to volunteer
Meet Sign-In/Out: We are aiming for 100% of families to RSVP for meets. Please take a moment to do so now-we are missing 30 swimmers currently. Please note: If you have a note that applies only to one child please include their name. It shows to apply for the whole family on our side. So "Sally has to leave after free" vs "we/she has to leave after free".
Meet Volunteering is currently open for the weekend of June 14 & 21st. Please make sure you sign-in with Matt to get your full credits. Clean Up team please stay til every area is cleaned up (Concessions is normally the last area needing help)
Caps: If you pre-ordered caps they are in your family folder.
Plain caps and - back by popular demand in limited quantities- the hearts and skull cap- are for sale in the team store. As of this weekend swimmers must be in plain cap or ILBC cap.
Ribbons: Ribbons from the Red White meet are in your folders. Relay ribbons will be in folders later this week. A reminder that Stroke Goal (Personal Best) ribbons start next week.
Stroke and Turn Training: There are two more chances to join us on deck as a Stroke and Turn judge:
Thur June 12th at theThe Downs Clubhouse
Thu June 19th Harting Farms Clubhouse 7-8:30pm, Stroke & Turn
8:30-9:15pm, Lead Official / Starter
Certification Procedure:
1. Pick the Date and Location that is best for you.
2. Complete this form:
Stroke and Turn Training Sign Up
3. Sign the attendance sheet on the day of your training.
Suits at Competition: GASL sent an email yesterday asking us to remind families that tech suits of any kind are NOT allowed in GASL competition except championship meets. This includes 12 and under FINA suits as well as any suit that offers compression. If it has a FINA label it is not permitted. Any other black suit your swimmer likes is fine!
Look for a link to the spirit store soon!
As always, please reach out with questions!
