As public schools end this week we start shifting to our summer practice schedule. Plus we learned a lot this weekend about meets and there are a few housekeeping updates below. Thanks for taking time to read so we are all on the same page!

Schedule for the week:

Monday - evening practices (check email before leaving, weather is hit or miss, please stay at ILBC during practice incase we have to cancel due to thunder). We will practice in light-moderate rain but cannot practice if thundering or raining very hard.

Tuesday: Meet Sign In closes at 12:00pm for our Saturday meet home vs Bay Ridge. Evening practices!

Thursday: Morning practices-NO dryland, starts next week! Masters Swimming Starts! Masters is our adult practice group, they meet twice a week and swim. All levels are welcome. Reach out to sign-up or for more info.

Friday: Morning practice and waffle Friday for Dolphins and Sharks only

Saturday: Meet at home vs Bay Ridge, details to come. Don't forget to sign-up to volunteer

Meet Sign-In/Out: We are aiming for 100% of families to RSVP for meets. Please take a moment to do so now-we are missing 58 swimmers currently.  Please note: If you have a note that applies only to one child please include their name. It shows to apply for the whole family on our side. So "Sally has to leave after free" vs "we/she has to leave after free".

Meet Sign and Volunteering is currently open for the weekend of June 15 & 22nd.

National Anthem: We need 3 people/groups to help perform our national anthem at our home meets. This can be a swimmer(s) singing/playing or a parent too! Respond to this email if you're interested.

Stroke and Turn Training: There are three more chances to join us on deck as a Stroke and Turn judge:

Monday, June 10th, 7-9pm at the Bay Ridge Clubhouse

Wednesday, June 12, 2024 7pm at the Indian Hills Clubhouse

Wednesday, June 19, 7-9pm at The Downs Clubhouse

Certification Procedure:

1. Pick the Date and Location that is best for you.

2. Complete this form:

3. Sign the attendance sheet on the day of your training.

Suits at Competition: GASL sent an email yesterday asking us to remind families that tech suits of any kind are NOT allowed in GASL competition.  This includes 12 and under FINA suits as well as any suit that offers compression. If it has a FINA label it is not permitted.  Any other black suit your swimmer likes is fine!
